Flashback: Spring Break 2002

I'm going to do some posts with flashbacks and old pictures of good times.

Winterpark: Spring Break 2002
Chris and I played the travel agents and I think the whole trip was like $500 a person. It was one of my favorite ski trips ever.
10 of us. $75 round trip tickets to Denver. Bunking in the YMCA. Lots of us learning to snowboard. Raccoon faces. Boy vs. Girl fights.
I remember Amanda's mascara running as she cried trying to get down the mountain, Chris' board being thrown in frustration, Phil getting his board stolen, Morgan losing her board down the hill, and Bobby pulling pizza out of his snowsuit in the middle of the run.
Oh it was so much fun.
Believe it or not, I left out the embarrassing pictures.

Here we are about to go the airport. I guess short curly hair was in for all of us:

Birthday's

From Uncle Jeff's B-Day Celebration
This weekend, my family celebrated a bunch of birthdays (Ryan's was Jan 18th, Mine was Feb 27th, Granddad's was March 4th, Jeff and a couple of cousins had some in there, too!) We went to Gainesville to my Aunt Dot and Uncle Jeff's. Sad, we hadn't been there since my cousin's wedding shower (see below), less than a month before Bella was born.
We didn't get any shots of the whole family (should have!) but, here are a few cute ones!
Oh wait, here's one of about half the fam:

Maxwell

Our neighbor was pregnant and put on bed rest after her water broke at 18 weeks! Little Max was then a miracle when he was born 2 1/2 months premature! Three months later (which was about two weeks ago), they finally were able to bring him home. Their family was basically living at the hospital for 7.5 months! Can you imagine?
Max was having trouble breathing, so as of Tuesday they are back in the hospital :( :( It's an hour by hour deal for them.
Please check out this website/blog and leave an encouraging comment and keep them in your prayers. They've got to be exhausted and just ready for him to get better. Thanks!!!

Question #9:

If you could start over, fresh out of high school, and could have done anything with your life, what would you have picked as a career?

Gosh, this is not as hard as it used to be for me. Most of college and life afterwards, I've wondered - "What am I going to be when I grow up!?!?" I went from wanting to be an art teacher to advertising/creative career, back to teaching, then actually worked in advertising, thought about teaching again, then worked in marketing for real estate then to actually selling real estate. Which I love. And if I could start over and pick a paying career, I'd say real estate. I like it a lot.

Then I became a mom.

Although I think Chris and I had a great 4 years together as newlyweds and had good time together by ourselves, I think I actually may have gotten started on being a parent earlier. I just love it and find a lot of joy in being a mom and wife. I also know that it's all great timing the way things have happened, but if I really knew how much fun being a mom would be, I think I may have opped for it earlier.

But there is no regretting the past on this one; I don't think we would have taken some of the risks we have taken if we had had a child earlier. But I wouldn't trade my job for anything now!

Bella Insogna

Have I mentioned before that we have friends named Jason, Katie and Bella? Another Katie and Bella!
Bella turned 1 last month, and they had a fun birthday party at their house a couple of weekends ago.

Riding in Style at the Zoo

From Zoo - March 2009
Last Saturday morning, we visited the zoo once again. I think Bella is starting to form friendships with the goats and pigs at the petting zoo. :) We also tried something new – let her ride in style with a wagon – pillow and all!
She really does love the petting zoo. She first runs to the bins to get a brush to brush them. Then she proceeds to hug and kiss them all. It’s like a farm in our backyard!!
We also had to stop at the moonwalk. There really is no explaining how much she loves these things, and has since about 10 months old. She’s a little monkey!

Chalk it up

From Chalk Day
With this awesome weather, Chris has been taking pictures like a mad-man. I love it. I haven’t adequately been keeping the blog up with them all!
Here are some GREAT shots with a few simple things: the sidewalk, chalk, and a really sweet little girl.

GG and Poppy's House

When we get the chance to visit GG and Poppy, we make a day out of it. After a trip to Waffle House this morning, we jetted out to Jefferson for some sun, fun, and wrestling.

It was a fun day, as it was a beautiful 70-degrees outside. Mom and Brian were around all day, and Dad joined us at about 2:00pm. I took a gazillion pictures, as usual. I'll let the pictures do the talking...
