Tricycle
Someone is learning to pedal!
Here's Bella on her pink RadioFlyer from Nana and G-Daddy. She's just figured out how to pedal herself.

Speaking of - "I'm gonna do it by myself!" is a phrase we hear a lot these days. I have to say, Potty is my favorite thing she can do herself (meaning, getting the stool to step up, undressing, wiping, flushing, and then moving the stool to wash her hands).
"You stay here! I do it myself!!!"

2.5 or 16??
Geez. Too big, too fast.

I have always complained about our favorite restaurant not being child friendly. You have to bring your own booster or clip-on high chair to Taqureria. Then, BAM! they are all grown up and can sit in their own chair, eating chips and dip with you. Stop growing, little one!

I think this is why I complain far far less about anything Farrah does (cry, spit up, etc.) because all of a sudden, they are grown.
Is it possible to live in the moment too much?

Athens
We visted our friends in Athens the weekend before last. As usual when we visit each other, Morgan, Kelly, Bobby, Chris and I went to Taqueria. Our entourage is growing!

The next morning, the boys played golf and we sewed. We are so domesticated. Not.
The only thing missing in Athens was my sister. Love you, Chelsie.
Also missing was a visit to Allison- Happy 30th, Allison!!!

Farrah is 6 MONTHS!!!
Half a year!?!!? I can't believe it.
Farrah is sitting up for short periods of time, with lots of pillows for protection.
After a month of rice cereal, she started with some sweet potatoes yesterday and LOVES them! I was in no rush to do baby food this time around... mostly because it's just another thing that I have to do. I love making the baby food, but it's super easy to just have her on milk... I don't have to prepare anything... food is always with us :)
At her 6 month appt, she was about 18 lbs (only gaining 1/2 a pound in two months). At dinner, she eyes us eating food. So we started and she loves it. And she slept better than she EVER has last night. I might be questioning why I hadn't already started solids... that was the best night sleep in about 8 months! :)
Farrah is such a bundle of joy! I don't know how else to say it. She's just a sweet baby, and I'm soaking up all the baby stuff before she gets any bigger :)
She has two bottom teeth in. I feel like she has a bunch of teeth about to come in, but the doctor said she thought it would be a while by the looks of them. She has started refusing the paci this month, although she'll chew on it and pass it from hand to hand. She has found her "voice" this month as well - really squealing in delight at her favorite toys.
I feel so blessed to be a mom, and particularly to Farrah and Bella.
Stats:
18.3 lbs (with a super soaked diaper!?!) 90th %
26" long (75th %)
Big Head (90th%)

Pictures of the girls at 5 Months!
Pretty cool to see them in pictures at the same age...

It's funny, one second I don't think they look alike... then the next I do! This age is fun, for sure!

Farrah is Five Months!
Farrah is growing, growing!
This month, she is getting teeth - her bottom two & her eye teeth have barely broken through. Her other top 4 are just under the surface (I think... it's so hard to tell when they will finally come out!!) The bottom ones are the ones I can feel.
She's laughing, squealing... almost yelling in her excitement sometimes (today, I thought it was Bella it was so loud!!) She loves watching her sister, her reflection in mirrors, her animals on her mobile. Farrah is "talking" up a storm too! (She loves the "oooooooooooooo" sound) I need to get some videos up of that. She's such a good and sweet baby!
I was pretty by-the-book with Babywise with Bella - and it totally worked -- she still is a great sleeper and napper. But I have found that I am totally more relaxed this time, I had to be any way- I started stressing when I tried to be too scheduled with Farrah because it was too much to handle with a 2.5 year old running around. She is on a good routine that loosely follows the same schedule Bella had- except I don't wake her in the morning at the same time. If she'll sleep... I'm letting her!! Basically, I'm just more laid back, but know when it's time for her to nap.
Here are some sweet pictures of Farrah Kate the other day. One of my favorite things about her continues to be her hands. She loves to reach out and grab you - your hands, your face, your clothes... hard to explain. But it's noticable - almost like she's trying to get your attention. Something I noticed with her pretty early... and I love it. :)
