Zoo lately

With the recent good weather, we've been enjoying to zoo more again! Our current favorite thing is the parakeet exhibit. We spend at least 20 minutes in there each time (that is a lot on one exhibit, if you ask this mom!). There are sticks with birdseed on them you can buy for $1. Tip: don't buy them. Many times, people will give you theirs when they are done because it would take forever for all the birdseed to get eaten OR they are just laying randomly on the ground.

These pics are from last Friday. Look at these sweet sisters.

To be honest, this is how a lot of our pics are. Bella being sassy and Farrah won't make eye contact. Or the other way around. :)

Then we alternate visits to either the train or the carousel. Farrah loves to yell "TRAIN!" every time she hears it throughout the zoo. But as soon as it's time to get on, she does NOT like it (specifically the tunnel). But that is getting better.

We love this picture. She saw Bella swinging, and had to do it, too. I just love her hair!!

And we rode the carousel that day...

We love the zoo!

OH wait... I just found some more pics on my phone from a previous visit:

I told ya... they love these birds!

And... we get on the train and everything is fine...

Then the engine starts up and she loses it...

Zoo with our Big Girl

Friday we took Bella to the Zoo. I keep trying to eat up each moment with "just the three of us!" Bella loves the zoo, and loved showing daddy the birds, g-raffs (giraffes), zebras and elephants.

But I also think she could love a park with just hand washing stations. The girl would wash, dry, wash, dry, wash, dry. Loves it.

We rode on the back of the train for the first time (faces backwards).

It was a BEAUTIFUL day, and weekend, and we are so thankful for our soon-to-be Big Sister!

Zoo with Friends

A couple of weeks ago, Bella and I joined Esther and Anderson for some fun at the zoo. The carousel and train are still favorites.

Look how big she's getting!!

Riding in Style at the Zoo

From Zoo - March 2009
Last Saturday morning, we visited the zoo once again. I think Bella is starting to form friendships with the goats and pigs at the petting zoo. :) We also tried something new – let her ride in style with a wagon – pillow and all!
She really does love the petting zoo. She first runs to the bins to get a brush to brush them. Then she proceeds to hug and kiss them all. It’s like a farm in our backyard!!
We also had to stop at the moonwalk. There really is no explaining how much she loves these things, and has since about 10 months old. She’s a little monkey!

Zoo - Second Home Lately

Well, if you've been sleeping under a rock, then you might not know that we live really close to the zoo. That's why you'll find us there on any given weekend where the temp. is over 50-degrees.

Bella is old enough now to enjoy the animals, especially...goats. Not the most exotic creatures at our lovely Atlanta Zoo, but she loves them. Hugging. Kissing. No worries. She doesn't hold back.

I'll shut-up and get to the pics. Maybe by the end of this long photo presentation, you'll feel like you went to the zoo with us. Maybe you should...holla.

Don't even think about getting on this thing with her, because she's a big girl now...

The conductor of the train, who by the way, pronounced the word "deaf," "deef," was kind enough to snap a family photo.

We tried to get her to say, "Chugga Chugga Chugga Chugga Choo Choo." I guess that's a little too advanced. She would just stare at me.

Loved her some goats. This is just before I ended her make-out session with it.

Here she is with her friend, The Hog.

Nothing to say here.

I'll tell you what she's thinking, based on her actions right after this pic..."Which one should I tackle and hug?"

Fierce.

For those at the zoo who thought she was a boy, here's your proof otherwise. She does NOT like to get her hands dirty. OOOOOOOEEEEEEEE!
From Zoo - Feb. 7

She's amazing.

If I can just get her to brush her own hair...

Yes, parents, we washed our hands afterward...

...and...enjoyed our reflections in the electric hand dryer...

And...finished the day with the Pandas.

And...a ride out on daddy's shoulders, which no smelly animal can replicate.

Hope you enjoyed your trip to the zoo with us.

My Girls

Just wanted to share this picture with you. My girls are beautiful. Took this one while at the Zoo Atlanta Petting Zoo. Who knew that while petting goats, I'd get a shot like this. More to come on our zoo visit tomorrow.

Zoo

We live basically at the entrance to the zoo. We have our annual passes, but I was really looking forward to when Bella was walking and noticing the animals a bit more. And, it totally makes all the difference!!! She is just a big ball of fun and energy!!
Note: Go to the zoo on a dreary, overcast or even drizzly day. The animals love that weather and really come out! I had heard that before, but can now confirm it. This was Tuesday morning, and at first I thought it was too cold. But it warmed up a tad, and the animals were all out.
