Pirate Night at the Beach

My Granddaddy is part pirate.

Can you be part pirate? He can.

Last time we all went to the beach together three years ago, he came out one night all dressed up:
From Cape San Blas 2009

So this year, we all planned to surprise him and dress up as well. My Grandmother was great to keep it all a secret. He was thrilled when we all jumped out at him and yelled, "ARRRGGGG!!!!"

We dressed up on our first night and planned to go out to eat. (Thank you Mom for basically putting together our outfits. It is hard to get a family with small kids out of the house and to the beach, much less with costumes. Good thing my mom likes to obsess over creat fun things like this! She got all project runway!) We did the "pirate night" earlier in the week because we didn't know if hurricane Issac was going to make us leave early.

As we drove up to the Raw Bar... oh my goodness... there was a HUGE crowd. We got out of the car - giggling and slightly embarrassed... Everyone stared for a while. Then they slowly started coming over one-by-one to ask what the heck we were doing and to get a picture with Granddad.

It was such a fun night. By the time we were able to sit and eat, we had forgotten we were even dressed up. I have to say the girls looked so cute! I think I have Halloween costumes covered... :)

Thanksgiving!

We did a Thanksgiving lunch at the Green's and dinner at the McIver's. Bunch of yummy food and family visiting!
Chris put together a video of our time at the Green's!

Here are a couple of good shots, too!

Bella & Farrah's Birthday PARTY!

IMG_0602
This year we combined the girls birthday parties. Many of the same friends would be invited, and I have to say it was much easier to plan one rather than two parties! :) It was a Halloween costume party and my awesome aunt let us have it at her place, The Social Goat Bed & Breakfast. I swear, it's always the best weather every year there! October is such a great time of year anyway. And my aunt Kristy's place is just cool anyway - I hardly have to decorate at all.

We had pizza, made my first cake pops (with Mom & Chelsie's much-needed help), and a jumpy house. This along with the costumes and great weather made for a wonderful time. I think the kids were all successfully worn out, too! :) Thank you all who came and made such a great memory with us.

Here's most of the kids:

My little ghosts: (we used the flower girl dresses from Ryan & Melissa's wedding!) I learned at the party that adhesive felt doesn't stick great. It was a good warm up for Halloween!

This is as we were singing Happy Birthday to the girls. Bella shouted, "No, it's my birthday!!" She didn't understand they were sharing. ha!

Farrah with GG. Two things to note: her Oso bear (She's obsessed with Special Agent Oso) and her smile lately:

Fair 2011

Our hometown fair has become a tradition with my family. We went growing up, but I swear I love it more now.
Fair 2010
Fair 2009

I was excited about Farrah's age... and although she was thrilled with just being able to walk around, she was not a fan of many rides. She probably most enjoyed the chocolate milk from the petting zoo :) Bella had a blast!! She wanted to ride everything. We rode what we could while we visited with tons of friends that were also at the zoo, ate corn dogs, and tried some fried cheesecake.

Frog Hopper again this year:

They are getting too big!

I love how this one shows me and Kristy with all of our girls... Izzie is in the stroller.

Farrah sat in this ride for about 10 seconds. We tried to tell her how much fun it was... but she'd rather just watch. She actually did want to ride the "cars" that were too big for her... next year, Farrah! :)

We had so much fun! Can't wait for next year! :)
