Santa 2010

I almost forgot to take the girls to see Santa this year! How else would he know to bring Bella a cash register and Farrah a snowman? (That is what they want, according to Bella). So we went tonight!
Farrah loved him. Not.

Things we've been doing...

... to stay warm in the house but not go stir-crazy.

1. Making gingerbread man cookies. And I eat them like they're going out of style. AND, I never get tired of hearing this, "Gingerman-man cookies":

2. Doing chores together.

3. Spying on neighbors

4. Dancing with Santa

3. Doing laps of "chase" around the pool table. This is also a good tool for expelling energy before nap :)

5. Longer bubble baths

6. Finding Elf on the Shelf in funny places in the morning

7. Eating snacks.

8. We went out a little today; bundled up to swing. That did not last long!

And, as you can tell -- wearing all kinds of footed PJ's!

Farrah using a spoon

Farrah starting using a spoon maybe 2 months ago? (meaning: this video is dated now) So she was about 11 months here? I have no idea if that is late for using her own spoon, but it kinda seems like it. I had NEVER offered it to her! I realized that is what she was whining for and wanting. Once I gave it to her, she went to town. Kinda like, "Mom, seriously, I can do this." The bowl comes out at least twice a day now - yogurt, grits, oatmeal, applesauce, etc... along with the bib!

Farrah Bath time

I found this draft in my posts. These are from September. But some things never change. Farrah LOVES the bath. Especially when she's in there alone. She swims across on her tummy. She also loves to stand and look at me with that mischievous face - waiting for me to tell her to sit down.

New (dangerous) Talent

Farrah is taking a few steps now!! Mostly just between furniture and back and forth to people. It's so fun to watch. Even after she falls down to her knees, she still makes that last stitch effort to leap into my arms.

Bella loves to "help" do anything. Wash dishes, cook, and look at cookies on the counter and remind you that they are there... She has these little white chairs from a table that are the perfect height to push and stand up on.

Farrah has been pushing them around lately, too, while walking behind them. Today, she pushed one over, climbed up, and turned on the crockpot!! Um, what?!? Isn't it a little early to worry about this? haha! Then, this afternoon, she climbed up on Bella's step in the bathroom and grabbed at everything she could!

This girl is into EVERYTHING!!!

Well Checks

The girls had their 1 and 3-year appointments today. I meant to bring a stroller so I could hold one girl while the other got their shots. But I forgot it! It wasn't fun to watch them cry, but I have worse days at home sometimes :) So - it was manageable !:)

Farrah was 21.4 lbs (50%) and 29.5" (75%).

Bella was 29 lbs (50%)and 37.5" (50%).

Both great health and good reports.

Farrah's molars are starting to come in. Glad the doctor could tell me that; she won't let me look back there!

Farrah got an oral vaccine and 3 shots and Bella got two shots. (Flu shot was included). Bella was being held and tried to bite the nurse! Not that she got close, but she was def leaning towards the nurse with her mouth open! It was her only defense. Probably the first time she's been fully aware that she was getting a shot. Poor thing. Farrah didn't like it either, of course, but was calmed quickly with a sucker. Bella didn't forget so quickly. I'm sure we'll be talking about it for the next month.

So thankful and blessed to have healthy kiddos.

For a fun reward, we went to Chick-fil-a after. They were giving free samples of the peppermint milkshake - a perfect size for two girls on their best behavior!
